Unit 3 Summer Exhibition Proposal
My work explores the boundary between two and three dimensions through epoxy resin and Mylar film. These works break free from rectangular constraints, allowing materials to determine their forms while creating dynamic interactions with light and space.
Exhibition Form
I will present 1 or 2 large installations bigger than 100 cm x 50 cm. These works organically “grow” from wall surfaces, embodying my transition from controller to collaborator. Crumpled Mylar film combined with resin creates metallic-like reflections and shifting light patterns as viewers move. Works protrude from walls at various angles, integrating with architecture to create immersive environments where viewers contemplate the boundaries between materiality and perception.
Specific Requests
Directional spotlighting or good sunlight for reflection effects.
MA Fine Art Research Festival Proposal
For the Research Festival, I will contribute an article exploring my research interests for publication in the online journal. This piece will examine my evolving relationship with materials. The article will reflect on new insights gained during my MA studies, including how embracing material agency has transformed both my practice and artistic identity. I will connect my discoveries with theoretical frameworks, while documenting my journey from traditional painting constraints to organic, three-dimensional explorations that integrate with architectural space.ception.
